Directors of the Cuban civil aviation take part in a regional event in the United States

The President of the Civil Aviation Institute of Cuba (IACC in its Spanish initials), Mr. Armando Daniel López, lead the Cuban delegation to the Seventh Meeting of the North American, Central American and Caribbean Directors of Civil Aviation held on September 19-21 in Washington D.C. Other members of the Cuban delegation to this meeting included Mr. Orlando Nevot González, Air Navigation Director at the IACC and Ms. Mercedes Vázquez González, Director of Air Transportation and International Relations at the IACC. 
 
Seizing their stay in D.C., the high-ranking officials of the civil aviation in Cuba also met with high-ranking representatives of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), who included, Mr. Michael R. Huerta, FAA Administrator and Ms. Huban A. Gowadia, TSA Deputy Administrator. 
 
These meetings reaffirmed the willingness of both parties to continue working together to maintain and increase the permanent operational security and safety achieved and other general achievements. Also acknowledged was the professionalism of the authorities and institutions of Cuba and the United States in this field and the role of the Cuban civil aviation in the observance of the provisions and measures guiding the work in the field of civil aviation in the region and internationally.
