The Cuban ambassador to Mongolia, Jorge Ferrer, met with the president of the CITI University, Dr. Baigalmaa Tsembel, with Mrs. Altantsetseg Tulgaa, Head of International Relations and other professors to discuss cooperation.
At the meeting, the President of CITI University of Mongolia stressed that the Mongolian people know very well the history of the heroic people of Cuba and its historical leaders Fidel and Raul Castro Ruz for more than 60 years.
Surprisingly, the President of that University announced that directors, professors, students and simple workers spontaneously raised funds in support of the people of Cuba due to the damages suffered by two hurricanes and earthquakes in 2024.
In this regard, the President of CITI University handed over to the Ambassador a donation worth 3 million Mongolian Trugriks, equivalent to about 850 Euros in solidarity with the Cuban people.
The Cuban Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the kind words of the President of the center about his people and their leaders. The diplomat requested to convey to those who made this noble gesture, his deep gratitude for this generous donation, on behalf of the people and government of Cuba and on his own behalf,
He stressed that this initiative of spontaneous solidarity with his people is a symbol of the sincere and genuine friendship that unites the peoples of Mongolia and Cuba who this year celebrate 65 years of diplomatic relations.
The Cuban Ambassador stressed that such a laudable gesture of altruism by a group of Mongolian students and workers, often humble, is a clear message that Cuba is not, alone and that solidarity cannot be blocked.
