Pretoria, July 3, 2020.- Today it was loaded on a special flight of South African Airways, a valuable donation from the government of South Africa to assist the battle against COVID-19 in Cuba.
The donation includes various medical materials and supplies for Cuban health facilities.
The Secretary General of the African National Congress (ANC), Comrade Elías “Ace” Magashule and General M.J. Tyhalisi, on behalf of the South African National Defense Forces, symbolically handed over the donation to Cuban Ambassador Rodolfo Benítez Verson at the O.R. Tambo International Airport in the city of Johannesburg.
The Cuban diplomat thanked on behalf of our people and government for the valuable gesture and described it as a palpable demonstration of the excellent relations of friendship, cooperation and solidarity between both countries.
The Airbus-340 that will take the donation to Cuba will arrive in Havana on Friday night, July 3.
