Pretoria, April 13, 2026 – The editor and founder of the independent digital media outlet Southern Africa Eye News, Faisal Iqbal, visited the Cuban Embassy in this African capital this morning, where he shared his media project with Cuban Ambassador Fakri Rodríguez Pinelo.
During the meeting, both discussed projects and initiatives that could be carried out as part of their upcoming visit to Cuba to participate, as representatives of South Africa, in the V International Colloquium "Patria" on Digital Communication, to be held from April 16 to 18, 2026, in Havana.
Southern Africa Eye News is an independent digital platform with local and regional reach, covering news on International Relations of interest to the southern African public.
Mr. Iqbal was accompanied by Ghulam Murtaza, also a journalist from this outlet, while from the Cuban side, Omar Salazar Noriega, Third Secretary of the diplomatic mission, was present.
