Belmopan, May 19, 2025.- As part of the bilateral exchange between Cuba and Belize, the Honorable Oscar Requena, Minister of Education, Science and Technology, received María Caridad Balaguer Labrada, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, at the headquarters of this ministry.
In a clear and friendly atmosphere characteristic of the relations between both countries, issues related to cooperation in the educational sphere and the determination of new avenues for collaboration were discussed. Minister Requena was accompanied by Dian Maheia, CEO of the ministry.
Belize is part of the Cuba - CARICOM scholarship programs for the training of human resources, which has allowed it to train professionals in various fields, contributing to the socioeconomic development of the country.
Cuba and Belize will celebrate 30 years of diplomatic relations on July 15, which have been characterized by support, mutual respect, and collaboration in areas such as health, sports, and culture.
Belize has permanently highlighted in the international arena the need to end the U.S. blockade against our country and to remove it from the unilateral list of state sponsors of terrorism made by the U.S. Department of State. (EmbacubaBelice).
