El Son Cubano is set to captivate London once again with the second edition of El Son Cubano Fest

LONDON, 9 May 2026.—The British capital is buzzing this week to the rhythm of Cuban music and tradition with the second edition of “El Son Cubano Fest”, which is bringing together musicians, dancers and lovers of Cuban culture at The Crown Hotel in Cricklewood until 11 May in a tribute to Cuban Son Day. The event, which coincides with international celebrations dedicated to this genre declared a National Cultural Heritage, features masterclasses, live performances and opportunities for cultural exchange that strengthen the ties between Cuba and the United Kingdom.

Organised by the Cuban dancer and choreographer Damarys Farrés, a leading promoter of this genre in the UK, the festival has established itself as an important cultural bridge between the two nations. With over two decades of artistic experience, Farrés has succeeded in bringing together dancers, musicians and lovers of Cuban culture, united by a shared passion for traditional Son and other indigenous genres of the island.

The programme includes workshops, seminars and practical classes aimed at participants of all levels, offering an introduction to the history, musicality and rhythmic nuances that characterise Son Cubano.

The success of this second edition is also down to the participation of leading musicians, dancers and artists based in the UK, who help to promote and preserve the richness of Cuban culture. Son Cubano Fest has established itself as a true celebration of Cuban identity and joy, promoting the preservation of Cuba’s cultural heritage in the UK.
