Embassy of Cuba in Finland and the Friendship Association pay tribute to the leader of the Cuban Revolution on his 94th birthday.
Helsinki, August 13th.- On the morning of August 13, the president of the Cuba-Finland Friendship Association, Paula Pere, together with members of her board of directors, visited the headquarters of the Cuban diplomatic mission in this capital to give Tribute to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz on his 94th birthday.
During the visit, friends of Cuba recalled their experiences on the Island throughout decades and highlighted the figure of the undefeated Commander in Chief, a tireless fighter who knows how to led for more than 50 years wisely the course of the Cuban Revolution.
The Charge d'Affaires a.i of the Island, Víctor Rodríguez Etcheverry exchanged with those present about the life and work of the Chief of the Revolution, always in favor of the humble and as a champion of the just causes of humanity. “Fidel was a leader of universal stature. A statesman and patriot follower of the ideas of Martí, who taught us Cubans to defend our principles and to fight injustices wherever they are found”, said Rodríguez Etcheverry.
At the end of the tribute, the Cuban diplomat gave away to the Friendship Association a valuable testimony from the Commander in Chief to the French journalist Ignacio Ramonet, “100 hours with Fidel”, in its English version. That way, new generations of Finnish friends of Cuba will be able to read the Cuban leader as one of the best ways to get to know his work and continue his legacy.
