Centurion, 22 March 2025 - In commemoration of the 37th anniversary of the victory in Cuito Cuanavale, the 63rd and 64th anniversaries of the Union of Young Communists of Cuba and the José Martí Pioneers Organisation, respectively, the Cuban Embassy in Pretoria celebrated a friendly softball game, in which collaborators of the different brigades, Cuban residents and South African comrades participated.
In a Cuban atmosphere, with popular dance music and a dominoes tournament included, the teams of the UNECA brigade, the military collaborators, the embassy team and the medical brigade played against each other, with the latter team taking home the trophy.
It was a day to feel close to the Homeland, even though thousands of kilometres away.
