The Embassy of Cuba in Mongolia celebrated the 65th Anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution

The Embassy of Cuba in Mongolia hosted an activity to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution with the participation of friends, professionals graduated in Cuba, Ambassadors from friendly countries and representatives of the Foreign Ministry.

Also attending was Khamba Lama Dr. Dambajav, President of the Mongolia Cuba Friendship Association, President of the International Buddhist Confederation and Vice President World Fellowship of Buddhists and the World Buddhist Sangha Council.

The ambassador of Cuba, Jorge Ferrer, and the Director General of the Department for the Americas, Middle East and Africa  of the Foreign Ministry, H.E. Mr. Anand Amgalan, spoke on the ocasssion.

Both speakers recalled the historic date and the traditional bilateral relations of friendship, the successful visit of the President of Mongolia to Havana in September and that, as a result of it, Cuba decided to increase the free university scholarships it has granted since 1963 to Mongolian students.

The Ambassador recalled that the Cuban Revolution overthrew a bloody pro-North American military dictatorship in 1959 and that 2023 was a year of great challenges for Cuba due to the continuity of the US blockade, the strongest and longest in history.

In this sense, he thanked the recent aid of the Mongolian government and people to the Cuban people for the damage caused by successive natural disasters and Mongolia's traditional vote in favor of the UN General Assembly resolution against the US blockade.

He quoted the leader of the Revolution, Army General, Raúl Castro, that "If the current challenges and difficulties are great, the work of the Revolution is greater. We are going to get out of these difficulties as we have always done: fighting" and to the Hero National, José Martí that “…poverty passes: what does not pass is dishonor…”

The diplomat highlighted that the Revolution has many more virtues than shadows and that despite the difficulties and errors, typical of any human work, only the Revolution made numerous benefits possible for Cubans and other peoples of the world in terms of independence, health, education, etc.
