The Embassy of Cuba in Mongolia celebrates together with Mongols and Cubans the 69th Anniversary of the Assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks

On July 25, the Embassy of Cuba in Mongolia celebrated the day of National Rebellion in commemoration of the 69th anniversary of the Assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks with the presence of a representation of the Mongolian Foreign Ministry, members of the Association of Graduates in Cuba, of Cuban residents and Ambassadors of various friendly countries in Asia.

The ambassador of Cuba, Jorge Ferrer Rodríguez, and the President of the Association of Graduates in Cuba, Ganbayar, spoke on the occasion.

The Cuban Ambassador recalled that the assault, led by Fidel and Raúl Castro, marked the beginning of the final stage of the struggles for the definitive independence of Cuba, which culminated in the triumph of the Cuban Revolution on January 1, 1959.

The diplomat stressed that the Revolution has accumulated 64 years of hard confrontation against internal and external enemies, financed and led by the United States, whose cornerstone of its policy is the inhuman, illegal and criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade and reiterated his thanks to the government, people, graduates and other friends of Mongolia for their solidarity.

He also pointed out that in the last year the government of the Empire has been involved in inciting and forcing an uprising of the population against the Revolution and recalled the words of the Cuban President, Miguel Díaz Canel Bermudez at the closing of the session of the National Assembly on July 22 “(…) They want to stop this country (Cuba); but we are not stopped and we are not going to stop. Our alternative is clear and it will never be surrender. We neither give up, nor will we let ourselves be defeated!”

The president of the Graduate Association read a statement from its members that congratulates the Cuban government and people and reiterates solidarity with Cuba and its people in the difficult economic times and the siege that it is going through.

It stressed that in addition to negative external factors, the Cuban people continue to be subjected to the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States, intensified in recent years with more than 245 measures; that this is not the time for hostility, harassment, or blockades, but for friendship, solidarity, and cooperation, such as that which Cuba continues to practice, and that the hostile and cruel policy of the Blockade must cease.
