Yesterday, July 16, the Embassy of Cuba, together with the Institute for Global Dialogue (IGD), of the University of South Africa UNISA, presented the documentary "Mandela and Fidel" as part of the activities it celebrates the Embassy for the Centenary of the birth of Nelson Mandela.
Nearly a hundred attendants, witnessed this tribute where they paid tribute to two great figures of history, examples of dedication, firmness, faith in human improvement and the full virtue of man. Ambassadors, Consuls, High Commissioners and other members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Pretoria, as well as academics, Cuban collaborators in the sectors of health and defense, Cuban residents members of ACRSA, graduates in Cuba, officials of the Embassy of Cuba, among other guests.
During the event, the Third Secretary of the Embassy of Cuba, Liliam Tápanes, recalled the moments in which Mandela visited the island of Cuba, as well as the special bonds of friendship and the relations of cooperation that exist between Cuba and South Africa.
The spectators could feel closely, during the screening of the documentary, the example of unbreakable friendship and special relationship between two beings, Fidel and Mandela; Although geographically remote, they were held together by ideals of justice, internationalism and solidarity.
