Pretoria, February 21, 2023.- The Ambassador of Cuba to South Africa, Enrique Orta González, was received by the Acting Director of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean of the South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation, Ms. L Rulumeni, in order to carry out a periodic review of the main issues of bilateral interest.
During the cordial meeting, the excellent level of political relations was ratified, as well as the need to continue expanding and diversifying cooperation in economic-commercial matters. Both parties recognized the quality of bilateral ties, translated into 28 years of fruitful relations between both governments.
The recent visit to Havana by the South African Minister of Education, Angie Motshekga, who participated in the Pedagogy 2023 and in the meeting of education ministers convened by Cuba within the framework of the G-77 and China, was praised. The South African side conveyed a message of congratulations to Cuba for holding the Chairmanship of this important multilateral group during the year 2023.
