The "Energy Future in Cuba" Seminar invited the Finnish business community to participate in the change of the energy matrix on the Island

Helsinki, August 25th, 2023.- The IRIS project has developed researches during the last four years associated with Cuba, sponsored by the Universities of Turku and Tampere in Finland. Cuban ambassador, Beatriz Parra González, had the opportunity to be part of the final Seminar "Energy Future in Cuba" about the impact and the need for a transition towards renewable sources that took place this Friday.

In her speech, the Ambassador invited businessmen and companies in the area of ​​renewable energy present at the Seminar, to participate in the 2023 Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2023) and be part of the foreign investment projects that are carried out in Cuba, associated with this area.

During her closing remarks, the Cuban diplomat dedicated special words to thank the Iris team that has brought Finnish knowledge to Cuban universities, while emphasizing the importance of this academic research for the future of the Caribbean nation.
