Exchange with the U.S. Agricultural Sector

The Embassy of Cuba in Washington hosted a meeting with representatives of the U.S. agricultural sector, including members of the U.S. Agricultural Coalition for Cuba, aimed at discussing commercial opportunities and strengthening agricultural cooperation between the two countries.

During the exchange, the President of the Agricultural Coalition, Paul Johnson, noted that over the past four months, fuel shortages in Cuba have further impacted agricultural production, food distribution, and essential services across the country. He also referred to shared opportunities in areas such as the supply of inputs, technological modernization, food security, and knowledge exchange.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment to continue promoting initiatives that boost bilateral agricultural trade and contribute to the sustainable development of the sector.

The Agricultural Coalition, established in 2014, has promoted dialogue, technical discussions, and engagement among producers, companies, and authorities from both countries. It has organized annual conferences in Havana, which have served as a practical and constructive platform to foster mutual trust and generate tangible benefits for both peoples.
