Expressions of Solidarity with Cuba in the San Francisco Bay Area

As part of a working visit to the San Francisco Bay Area, the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Cuba in the United States, Ambassador Tanieris Diéguez, and Second Secretary Gabriela González participated in a meeting organized by Cuba solidarity groups in Berkeley.

The meeting provided an opportunity for a dialogue on Cuba's current economic and social situation, with particular emphasis on the impact of the U.S. economic, commercial, and financial blockade and the broader set of unilateral coercive measures imposed by the U.S. government. The discussion also addressed the drafting, public consultation, and approval of Cuba's Family Code, highlighting its broad participatory and democratic nature.

Participants reaffirmed their solidarity with the Cuban people and condemned threats of military action aimed at undermining Cuba's sovereignty.
