Havana, 28-29 April 2024. A group of more than 15 Australian members of the Construction, Forestry and Maritime Workers Union (CFMEU) are visiting Cuba to join in activities related to the celebration of International Workers' Day.
Friends from Cuba have carried out an extensive program of visits to centers and places of interest. Among them, they visited the headquarters of the Construction Workers Union in Matanzas, where they had the opportunity to exchange with their Cuban counterparts, particularly on the damages caused in the sector by the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba.
They were also able to visit José Martí Memorial, learn about the history and pay tribute to Cuba's National Hero.
During the next few days, the brigadistas will be attending the commemoration of May 1st and will participate together with the Cuban people in the celebrations.
