Dublin, June 21, 2018. Fernando Gonzalez Llort, Hero of the Republic of Cuba and President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, held a fraternal meeting with Joe O'Flynn, general secretary of the SIPTU union and its National Executive Committee.
The Cuban hero had the opportunity to thank the active participation of the main Irish trade union organization in the campaign for his release and that of Antonio, Gerardo, Rene and Ramon, as well as for the sustained solidarity to end the economic blockade imposed by the government of the United States against the Cuban people, among other actions of expression of friendship displayed by the trade union organization towards the Cuban people. Fernando also had the opportunity to share with the trade union leaders of SIPTU the main projects carried out by the Cuban government and people to improve the socialist society that we are building.
It was extended on behalf of the Central Workers of Cuba and Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples an invitation for SIPTU to be present, in the next celebration of May Day in Havana, an occasion that will coincide with the celebrations for the 60th Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.
