Pretoria, 19 January 2024 - The president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and Hero of the Republic of Cuba held a fruitful meeting with the members of the Cuban State Mission in South Africa. The heads of the brigades of hydraulic engineers, educators and doctors, as well as the embassy staff participated in the meeting.
The ICAP president has just finished his visit to the country, accompanied by Yahimí Rodríguez Flores, the Institute's director for Africa, and other officials, after having participated in the VII African Continental Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, held here, in Mbombela. Fernando stressed that the meeting was a success, given the participation of important political and government figures and it demonstrated the continent's support for the Cuban Revolution and its people.
In addition, there were clear signs of solidarity with the island against the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States, which is the main obstacle to the economic development of the Caribbean nation.
