Helsinki, October 11th.- On the afternoon of Monday, October 11th, the Day of festivities in salute to Cuban culture began in the capital of the Nordic country, which will run until the 25th of the same month, in several cities of Finland.
In her opening remarks, the president of the Finnish-Cuban Friendship Association, Eeva Kokki, highlighted the historical importance of the date for Cubans and the fortune of being able to carry out some face-to-face activities, within the new post-covid normality in the country.
The afternoon was nuanced by the contagious music of the Caribe-Helsinki Band, who performed classics from the Cuban repertoire, as well as their own songs, which have been gaining popularity among lovers of son in Finland. The declaimer Daikel Lindfors-Labato, recited allegorical poems of his own authorship to our beautiful Cuba, a land full of feelings and emotions, which unites with his children and Finnish friends in this recently begun festivities.
The schedule of presentations includes conferences, master dance classes, concerts, a great Cuban party and the screening of the film by director Ernesto Daranas, “Sergio y Serguéi”, as the closure of the activities.
