Helsinki, July 24, 2022.- From the very early hours of this Saturday, our headquarters were embellished to receive those who would accompany the central act for July 26 in Finland. Finnish friends and Cuban residents came from the most distant regions of Finland to commemorate this national date.
At the event, the Cuban Ambassador, Beatriz Parra González, referred to the meaning of July 26 for the triumph of the Revolution and updated those present on issues of the Cuban national reality, in particular on the effects of the tightening of the blockade and the results of the recent session of the National Assembly of People's Power.
The event was attended by the ambassadors of Mexico, Namibia, Palestine and Vietnam, as well as the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, who accompanied their spouses, came to share such a special moment with Cuba. Likewise, Finnish sports figures such as the world champion in gymnastics, Tuuli Matinsalo, and representatives of the boxing, wrestling and volleyball federations, were present at the activity.
Friends of the Communist Party, SKP, and its youth wing, of the Finland-Cuba Association and historians of relations between the two countries, such as documentarians Folke West and Pirkko Passanen, together with dear friends from distant cities such as Turku or Tampere, made honors to Cuba on such a memorable date.
The cultural part of the activity was led by the Cuban singer-songwriter Erick Jones, and the guitar player Rodrigo, who performed "Esencias" dedicated to the National Hero of Cuba, José Martí, and ended with the renowned "Guantanamera" by Joseito Fernández.
