Finnish visitors find interest in Cuba after successful border opening

Helsinki, December 1st .- On the afternoon of December 1st, the Director of Products of Aventura OY Agency, Ms. Miia Vilppula, virtually received the Charge d'Affaires a.i from Cuba in this capital, Mr. Víctor Manuel Rodríguez Etcheverry.

During the entertaining exchange, Vilppula updated his Cuban counterpart about the reactivation of the Cuban market, which has been sending groups of Finnish tourists to the island since 11/15. By 2022, gradually, the sector should recover and increase the volume of travelers to Cuba, who require the services of the tour operator.

For his part, the Cuban diplomat referred to the new and flexible opening measures of the Island, the COVID scenario and the massive vaccination campaign developed by the health authorities, to achieve the goal to vaccinate  100% of the population by the end of this year .

Tourist facilities are ready to receive foreign visitors. Workers linked to the sector also have booster doses for greater customer safety.

Despite the Economic, Commercial and Financial Blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba for almost 60 years, the significant impact of the global pandemic and the political pressures planned against Cuba in 2021, the people, with their traditional hospitality, remain willing to offer what they have and not what is left over, ”stated Rodríguez Etcheverry.
