First group of Cuban Health specialists to North West Province in South South Africa to confront COVID-19

Pretoria, May 15, 2020.- Thirteen of the 217 specialists from the Cuban Medical Brigade that arrived in South Africa to assist in the efforts against COVID-19 on April 27, left today for the town of Klerksdorp in the South African province of North West. 

The specialists will be received tomorrow by the Minister of Health of that province, Madoda Sambatha, and will subsequently be deployed in areas where their assistance is most needed.

The Chief of the Cuban Medical Brigade in South Africa, Dr Denis de Armas, participated in the emotional farewell of this first group of specialists who with genuine pride and enthusiasm set out to save lives.
