First Vice President of the Councils of State and of Ministers of Cuba attended the inauguration of the President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa 

The first vice president of Cuba Salvador Valdés Mesa, presided over the official Cuban delegation that participated today in the ceremony of presidential inauguration of Cyril Ramaphosa.
On behalf of the Island, the event was attended by Ana Teresita González Fraga, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs; Brigadier General Arnaldo Tamayo Méndez, adviser to the Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces; and the Ambassador of Cuba, Rodolfo Benítez Verson.

Heads of State and Government and other high dignitaries from the countries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) also participated; representatives of regional and international organizations, as well as friendly nations such as Venezuela, Palestine and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.

The ceremony took place in Loftus stadium in Pretoria, with the participation of more than 30 thousand people, who witnessed a colorful event that included military parades and a show of the Air Force in greeting to the newly inaugurated President of the Republic of South Africa, after the victory of the African National Congress (ANC) in the national elections of last May 8.
