Pretoria, 23 May 2019.-Today arrived in South Africa comrade Salvador Valdés Mesa, First Vice president of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, heading the Cuban delegation that will participate in the presidential inauguration ceremony.
After the victory of the African National Congress (ANC) in the recent elections, Cyril Ramaphosa will be formally invested as president of the country this Saturday May 25, in Pretoria
The Cuban delegation is also integrated by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Ana Teresita González Fraga; Brigadier General Arnaldo Tamayo Méndez, adviser to the Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces; the Ambassador of Cuba Rodolfo Benítez Verson and other representatives of the Island.
Today, the First Cuban Vice President will place a wreath in Freedom Park, in homage to the Cuban internationalist fighters who gave their lives in the struggles for the liberation of Africa and the overthrow of the Apartheid regime.
It will also hold a meeting with a representation of the Cuban cooperators who work in South Africa in the sectors of health, education, construction and defense.
