Foreign Minister of Lesotho and Ambassador of Cuba exchange views

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Lesotho received the Ambassador of Cuba, Rodolfo Benítez Verson, at the headquarters of the local Chancellery in Maseru.

During the meeting, they reviewed multiple issues on the bilateral agenda, including those related to ongoing bilateral cooperation programs in various spheres.

Foreign Minister Basotho highlighted the gratitude of his country for Cuba's support for the formation on Cuba Island of students from the African Kingdom in various specialties, particularly doctors. Likewise, he recognized the high value that the careful and highly qualified health care provided by the medical brigade that remains in Lesotho has for the population of the country.

The Cuban ambassador thanked the firm support and solidarity that Lesotho has always maintained regarding the legitimate demand of Cuba for the elimination of the blockade illegally imposed for more than half a century by the United States government.

The exchange allowed identifying new areas of common interest to continue expanding and strengthening the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation that unite the two countries.
