Pretoria, 23 February 2026.- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla held a fruitful bilateral meeting with his South African counterpart, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Ronald Lamola, during the High-Level Segment of the 61st session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.
The meeting is part of regular exchanges between the two sister nations, which share a common past and are currently developing ties based on issues of mutual interest.
South Africa and Cuba maintain a special relationship based on the historic friendship between Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro and South African leader Nelson Mandela.
Since 1994, both countries have enjoyed a solid exchange in various areas, especially through cooperation and complementarity on multilateral issues.
