Belfast, January 2019. Thanks to the program organized by "Cuba Support Group" to celebrate in Belfast the 60th Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, the Cuban ambassadors Teresita Vicente Sotolongo and Hugo René Ramos Milanes, accredited to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and North Ireland and in Ireland, respectively, held various work meetings that included a meeting with Declan Kearney, a prominent national leader of the Sinn Féin party.
Both sides developed a fluid exchange of opinions on issues of the greatest relevance at present nationally and internationally, among which could not be missing the permanent solidarity with the cause of the Palestinian people and against the aggressions suffered by sister nations such as Venezuela and Nicaragua.
The Sinn Féin in the voice of Kearney expressed his congratulations to the Cuban people on the 60th Anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution and renewed its solidarity and commitment in the international campaign to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade that the current Yankee government is committed to reinforce, ignoring the international claim that demands its elimination. Kearney stressed that the Cuban Revolution has been an inspiration for the freedom fighters in the world and is an example of international solidarity for its assistance to other peoples, especially in health and education.
The Cuban diplomats expressed their gratitude and ratified the commitment of continuity of the younger generations with the legacy left by the founders of the Revolution.
