Cape Town, 20 May 2026. —During his visit to the University of the Western Cape, the Cuban Ambassador, Fakri Rodríguez, gave a lecture on the current situation in Cuba and bilateral relations between Cuba and South Africa.
The event was attended by an audience of students, academics and friends of Cuba. A productive exchange took place, providing an opportunity to describe the true reality of Cuba, which is threatened by the economic blockade and military aggression by the US.
The occasion served as a demonstration of solidarity and support for Cuba, with participants expressing the significance and positive impact that the Cuban Revolution has had on the world.
Many of those present were moved to sign the global campaign “I sign for Cuba”.
