Pretoria, 29 January 2026.- The Cuban Ambassador to South Africa, Fakri Rodríguez Pinelo, held a fruitful meeting with the Minister of Higher Education and Training, Buti Manamela, and his team.
During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in this sector. The Cuban ambassador highlighted Cuba's willingness to continue developing relations with the South African government and people, especially in the field of higher education.
The South African minister recalled his previous visits to Cuba and confirmed his interest in returning to finalize new agreements with the Cuban Ministry of Higher Education.
Also participating were the Director of International Relations at the Ministry of Higher Education, Xolani Khumalo, on the South African side, and the Second Secretary of the Embassy, Bryan Betancourt, on the Cuban side.
