Havana, 21 January 2026.- The president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Fernando González Llort, received a delegation from the Gauteng Provincial Legislature, which is visiting Cuba.
During the cordial exchange, the Honourable Thulani Kunene, deputy-president of the working committees of that body and member of the South Africa-Cuba Friendship Association (FOCUS), who also heads the delegation, reiterated the solidarity of the South African people with the Cuban people, united by a common history of struggle for independence and sovereignty.
During their stay on the island, the delegation will carry out an extensive programme of activities, which will include several meetings with Cuban institutions and organisations, such as the FMC, the CDR, provincial and municipal governments, and community projects, with the aim of strengthening ties between our provinces and peoples.
