On September 27, the 48th Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Group of 77 and China was held in New York.
For the first time, the Group adopted a Ministerial Declaration condemning the inclusion of Cuba in the arbitrary list of States that allegedly sponsor terrorism and requested the immediate exclusion of the country from this spurious list.
The Foreign Ministers of the member countries of the Group, meeting in New York, recognized that this measure has reinforced the effects of the blockade, including Cuba's difficulties in carrying out financial and commercial operations, threatening the subsistence and integrity of the Cuban people.
It is a valuable expression of solidarity that adds to the more than 900 statements that this year has demanded the immediate rectification of this grave injustice against the Cuban people. The President of the United States has every power to address this just demand.
The G77 and China are the largest bloc of developing countries within the United Nations System. It is the most diverse grouping in the multilateral sphere, whose 134 member states represent two-thirds of the membership of the United Nations and 80% of the world's population.
