Pretoria, August 6, 2020.- Today is a very sad day for South Africa and Cuba. We mourn the passing of a great revolutionary and patriot, a man of principle, a stalwart of the anti Apartheid liberation struggle, a true friend of the Cuban Revolution, Comrade John Nkadimeng.
He was the first Ambassador of liberated South Africa to Cuba, and one of the first promoters of the great cooperation program on health between our two countries.
He was also the Chairperson of Friends of Cuba Society (FOCUS) in Gauteng from 2002 to 2005. We will never forget his key role in the South African campaign for the release of the Cuban Five.
His immense contribution to the specials relations of friendship and cooperation between Cuba and South Africa will never been forgotten. We will always honour this giant of Solidarity and Internationalism. We are committed to preserve the huge legacy he leaves behind
