Several venues in the Cuban capital are decked out today to welcome those who admire cultured harmonies, eager to enjoy the varied program booked for this week by the National Center of Concert Music.
This Thursday, lutenist Rosalia Mosqueda will offer a recital at the Casa de las Tejas Verdes at 3:00 p.m. local time, and one hour later, as part of the project "Concert Music, closer to you...", the Argeliers León Hall will host pianist Lianne Vega along with piano students of teacher Mercedes Estévez.
Also that day, at the Basílica Menor del Convento de San Francisco de Asís, a concert by the Ventus Habana wind quintet will take place at 6:00 p.m. local time in celebration of the 20th anniversary of its creation.
The Casa de las Tejas Verdes will reopen its doors on Friday at 3:00 p.m. local time to welcome the piano mastery of Ulises Hernandez.
On the same day, but one hour later, the Entrevoces chamber choir, conducted by maestro Digna Guerra, will give a concert at the Argeliers León Hall, as part of the "Concert Music, closer to you..." project.
The guitar orchestra Sonantas Habaneras, conducted by maestro Jesús Ortega, will perform on Friday at 5:00 p.m., local time, at the Centro Hispanoamericano de Cultura, as part of the aforementioned project.
Also on Friday, at the same time, the Vitier García-Marruz House will host a recital of European chamber music dedicated to the month of Europe, by Art-Trio (violin, cello and piano).
Meanwhile, the Camerata Vocale Sine Nomine, conducted by Leonor Suarez, will perform on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. local time at the Gonzalo Roig Hall of the National Lyric Theater together with the National School of Arts Choir.
Meanwhile, the Camerata Romeu, conducted by maestro Zenaida Romeu, will give a concert on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. local time at the Basílica Menor del Convento de San Francisco de Asís.
The Theater Hall of the National Museum of Fine Arts will host on the same day, but one hour later, the musicality of maestro Luis Manuel Molina, guitarist and composer, in celebration of his 45 years of artistic life.
The program also reserved a recital by the chamber choir Vocal Leo, under the baton of maestro Corina Campos, will be presented at the Ignacio Cervantes Hall on Sunday at 11:00 local time.
Meanwhile, at the Tardes Líricas space of the Casa del ALBA Cultural, its hosts, soprano Milagros de los Ángeles and pianist Vilma Garriga, will perform with the Ensemble Vocal Luna, under the baton of maestro Maribel Nodarse, on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. local time.
With the message In Havana, creative city of music: Concert music: closer to you..., the National Center for Concert Music, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the Cuban Institute of Music and the Havana Provincial Directorate of Culture, conceived an initiative aimed at municipalities with less access to this type of presentations.
Thanks to this idea, the public will enjoy renowned performers of classical music: instrumentalists, lyric singers and choral and chamber ensembles will perform in cultural centers, libraries and art galleries in the community. The program includes the presentation of the Exaudi Chamber Choir, directed by María Felicia Pérez, and the wind ensemble Nueva Camerata, under the direction of maestro Haskell Armenteros, on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. local time at the theater of the Arroyo Arenas Cultural Center, located in the municipality of La Lisa.
Meanwhile, the theater of the Casa de Cultura of Santiago de las Vegas, in the municipality of Boyeros, will host the D'Profundis Chamber Choir, conducted by maestro Digna Guerra, on the same day and at the same time.
The Havana Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Daiana Garcia, will give a concert at the "Teodoro Ramos Blanco" Gallery in Cerro municipality, next Sunday at 6:00 p.m. local time.
Meanwhile, on the same date and time, the Justo Vega Cultural Center, located in the municipality of Arroyo Naranjo, will host a concert by the National Concert Band and the Habana Brass Quintet, both under the baton of maestro Igor E. Corcuera.
