December 2022, 19.- Hon. Francis Fonseca and Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Dian Maheia, received H.E. Mrs María Caridad Balaguer Labrada, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Belize, for a courtesy visit at the Ministry's Headquarters in Belmopan.
Minister Fonseca and Ambassador Balaguer focused their discussions on an invitation extended by Dr Ena Elsa Velázquez Cobiella, Minister of Education of the Republic of Cuba, for Minister Fonseca to attend the 18th Annual International Pedagogy Congress to be held next year in Havana, Cuba. Minister Fonseca expressed his delight at the invitation and is looking forward to being able to participate in this important congress.
Opportunities also rose to discuss matters of mutual interest for Belize and Cuba, especially related to ways we can work together to advance the development of education, particularly, special education, early childhood education, technical and vocational education, and culture, especially, in regard to museums, music, and art.
