I MISS FIDEL VERY, VERY MUCH – RALPH GONSALVES

Ralph Gonsalves, Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, participated in the Central Act of tribute to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, held at the Cuban Embassy in that sister country.

After the concert of Cuban music, that centered the tribute, the Vincentian leader shared with those presents, important reflections on the personality of Fidel, whom he called a Giant.

Ralph Gonsalves pointed out that none of the great advances that Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is currently experiencing, would have been possible had it not been for Cuba and for Fidel's enormous personal contribution to the actions of cooperation and solidarity with the small Caribbean nation, to despite the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade of which he is a victim for almost 60 years.

The president recalled the “Operation Miracle”, known in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines as "Vision Now", the construction of the Argyle International Airport, a project of enormous importance and complexity, as well as the technical assistance, equipment and presence of Cuban medical personnel in the Modern Medical and Diagnostic Center of Georgetown and in other localities of the country.

Ralph Gonsalves recalled his last encounter with Fidel, his last conversation with him and recounted his astonishment at the scope and depth of the issues in which Fidel remained immersed until the last days of his existence.

Gonsalves expressed his personal commitment to defend Fidel Castro's legacy until his last breath, and pointed out that he misses Fidel very, very much.
