Pretoria, February 23, 2023.- The deputy president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Víctor Gaute López, accompanied by the chief director of Africa and the Middle East of ICAP, Yahimí Rodríguez, began an official visit to South Africa where he will complete a broad work schedule.
As part of the program, the deputy President held a fruitful exchange with representatives from the ANC Youth League (ANCYL) and other South African youth organizations. He conveyed a fraternal greeting to them on behalf of the Union of Young Communists of Cuba (UJC) and urged them to continue working in order to materialize future joint projects with their counterpart organization in Cuba, the UJC.
From the South African part, Khulekani Skosana, president of the ANCYL International Relations Committee, referred to the historical relationship between Fidel and Mandela and how they, together with Che, are an example to follow for many young South Africans. Furthermore, he reiterated the support and solidarity of the South African youth for the just struggle of the Cuban people against the blockade.
