(Doha, January 2, 2026) – The Cuban flag illuminated prominent landmarks in Doha, the capital of Qatar, in honor of Cuba's National Day.
The Lone Star Flag, one of Cuba's national symbols, was projected last night onto the Sheraton Grand Hotel, a landmark on the city's skyline, and onto the Aspire Tower, also known as the Doha Torch, a 300-meter-tall skyscraper.
His Highness Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and His Highness Vice Emir Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani sent congratulatory messages to the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution, while Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, congratulated his Cuban counterpart.
The celebrations in Qatar concluded on January 1st with a political-cultural event at the Cuban Hospital in Dukhan. A large number of Cuban healthcare professionals working in Qatar and members of the Diplomatic Mission participated, and the event recognized the excellent work achieved in various departments and individually.
The occasion also served to honor the figure and legacy of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz in the year of his centennial.
