International Forum on Native Cultures convened in Cuba.

The institution Casa de las Americas convenes in Cuba the VI International Colloquium of Studies on Native Cultures of the Americas, to be held from October 15 to 18, 2024.

The forum will be dedicated to the theme Counter-hegemonic Alternatives from the sciences and native knowledge, according to the institution.

The edition seeks to encourage reflection on the historical conditions that explain the exclusion of knowledge generated from native cultures and, above all, to make visible the strategies of resistance that make it possible for this counter-hegemonic knowledge to remain and be reproduced to this day.

Participants will be able to approach these topics from different perspectives and also other aspects related to the current economic, political, social and cultural reality of the indigenous peoples of America.

In addition, their actions in the face of the mechanisms that attempt to annihilate their cosmovisions, and the particular way in which these are articulated in the present with communication, artistic creation, activism and leadership.

Those interested may submit individual papers or panels - of three or four participants - until July 22, 2024 through the platform https://premiocasa.cult.cu/culturasOriginarias.
