Tehran, December 2, 2020. The Minister of Health and Medical Education of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Saeed Namaki received Cuban Ambassador Alexis Bandrich Vega at his headquarters, with whom he held a fraternal and fruitful meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador Bandrich ratified the firm condemnation of our people and government to the murder in recent days of the prominent Iranian scientist Mohsen Fajrizadeh, victim of a terrorist attack on the outskirts of the capital Tehran, a gesture that was heartily thanked by the minister Namaki on behalf of his nation.
Both parties agreed on the need to join forces and strengthen bilateral ties in all spheres, in correspondence with the historic ties of brotherhood and resistance that unite our peoples.
The Iranian health minister recalled his trip to Cuba, when cooperation in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals began, which has brought such good results for his people. Dr. Namaki praised the development of Cuban science and its perennial vocation for solidarity.
Cuba and Iran resist the most cruel and inhumane sanctions of the United States government, which have intensified in times of the Covid-19 pandemic, in direct contradiction to the spirit of cooperation and respect for the right to life of our peoples .
