Irish Solidarity prepares to celebrate 60 years of victories.

Dublin, March 2, 2020. The Cuban Ambassador to Ireland, Hugo René Ramos Milanés held a fraternal working meeting with representatives of the various organizations that make up the Irish solidarity movement with Cuba, including: Cuba Support Group, SIPTU, UNITE, Workers´ Party, Communist Party of Ireland and Sinn Féin. One of the essential objectives was to agree on the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, which also means celebrating 60 years of existence of the international movement of solidarity with the Cuban Revolution and of confronting the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States government against the Cuban people.

Among the actions to be undertaken is the invitation to Ireland of an ICAP delegation to meet the friends of Cuba in various cities. Irish solidarity will also be present in the various events that will take place in Cuba in the course of 2020. As well as in the European solidarity meeting to be held in Moscow.

Those present also had the opportunity to share a document denouncing the aggressiveness of the Yankee government against the Island through the resurgence of the blockade and the adoption of 91 new unilateral sanctions within a period of just over a year. Which have been destined to cause profound damage to the economy and the Cuban people, to intimidate foreign business partners, to discourage foreign investment, and hinder cooperation, including that Cuba provides to other nations in sectors such as health, without considering that millions of people can be deprived of health care.

Faced with such criminal aspirations, the will of a people and its government is determined to overcome all obstacles and continue advancing the conquests of its Revolution.

Together with them, accompanying them, the international solidarity movement, which is not only committed to denouncing and condemning, but also in building new relations of cooperation and trade capable of breaking that criminal blockade internationally repudiated.

Friends of solidarity visiting the Embassy of Cuba in Ireland.
