Canberra, 27 April 2026. An Itinerant Consulate was held in the city of Sydney, last Friday, April 24. Coordinated by the Third Secretary in charge of Consular Affairs, Ivianes D. González Llanes, the event was designed to bring consular services closer to Cubans residing in the NSW state.
The event provided an opportunity to offer information on various consular procedures, particularly the ease of applying for documents online, to provide an update on Cuban family law, and to discuss the impact of the U.S. blockade against Cuba.
Cubans in attendance had the opportunity to receive details about major events taking place in the country, with the participation of Cubans living abroad. They were briefed on the immigration measures announced by the Cuban government, which will be implemented starting in July 2023.
Attendees appreciated this type of event, which facilitates consular services, given that Australia covers a vast territory and traveling to the embassy in Canberra is difficult for them.
