IT´S DEVELOPED IN DOMINICA STUDENT SELECTION PROCESS FOR SCHOLARSHIPS IN CUBA

Roseau, May 3, 2019. To coordinate aspects of the selection process of the students to whom the government of Dominica will grant the scholarships offered by the Cuban government, a meeting was held yesterday afternoon, on May 2, 2019, in the diplomatic headquarters.

The Ambassador of Cuba in this country, Ulises Arranz Fernández, was able to confirm that the process is proceeding according to the planned schedule. On the Dominica side were present Sylvanie Burton, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ezra Thomas, Chief of Protocol Office of said Ministry and Chandler Hyacinth, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development.  In the meeting details were specified about the documents that will make up the file of each student and the process of legalization of the same.

The calendar foresees at the end of the process a meeting at the Embassy with all the selected students. As part of the Scholarship Plan granted by Cuba this year, 10 scholarships for the medical career were awarded to Dominica; 1 for the Bachelor of Nursing, corresponding to the Degree in Health Technology; 3 scholarships for other university specialties and 2 medical postgrad scholarships for graduates in Cuba.

In Cuba more than 360 young of Dominica have graduated, whose first graduates will commemorate this 2019 the 40th anniversary of their studies.
