Sidney, July 26, 2026. The Australian solidarity community once again expressed its support for the Cuban people with a commemorative event for July 26, organized by the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society (ACFS) of Sydney, along with other organizations that support Cuba. The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Australia participated in the event, which brought together a large group of friends in an atmosphere of music, traditional food, dancing, and a profound spirit of fraternity.
During the event, the Embassy had the honor of presenting the Friendship Medal, awarded by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), to members of the solidarity movement whose work has been fundamental in supporting Cuba and defending the truth against disinformation campaigns and external pressures. The award was received with emotion by those present, who emphasized the value of solidarity as a bridge between peoples.
The celebration became an opportunity to reaffirm support for Cuba in the face of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States government, a policy that continues to severely impact the country's development and the daily lives of Cuban families. The numerous expressions of affection and support throughout the day confirmed that Cuba is not alone and that truth and justice continue to be defended by friends around the world.
