A large South African delegation from different sectors visits Cuba

Havana, September 22, 2022.- Until next day 24 a large delegation from South Africa visits different cultural institutions in Cuba to learn about the reality of the island in that sector.

Names such as Mbali Dawn Hlophe, a member of the Gauten Provincial Legislature and the Executive Council for Sport, Culture, Arts and Recreation of that South African province; or that of legendary artists with more than 64 years in the music and art industry such as Caiphus Semenya and Letta Mbulu Semenya, Founders and Sponsors of the Africa´s National Academy of Performing Arts, stand out in the delegation.

They are joined by officials from the South African Department of Sport, Arts and Culture headed by Charles Mabaso, Director of South African Cultural Development; John Mogashoa, Director of Bilateral Cooperation; and Nontsikelelo Baqwa, Director of Stakeholder Relations.

The visit program responds to marked interests: interact with Cuban institutions in terms of cultural exchange and with professors to learn about the different residency programs. Share curricula and teaching skills in different areas of music, dance, theater, cinema, instrument repair and electrification of some traditional instruments, as well as the exchange of technical knowledge.
