Latin American Film Festival opens in Canberra

Canberra, August 9, 2023. The 18th edition of the Latin American Film Festival in Australia was inaugurated this afternoon at the Kambri Theatre of the Australian National University (UNA). The event was attended by the Heads of Mission of all the countries of the region with Embassies in Australia, as well as students and members of the Latin American communities in the southern country.

A total of 15 feature films will be screened during the festival, one from each country in the region that has diplomatic representation in Canberra. This year the event is dedicated mainly to the role of women in the history of Latin America. The Colombian delegation was in charge of the protempore coordination, as well as the words of welcome to the public, on behalf of the Latin American Embassies.

The Cuban Ambassador to Australia participated in the inauguration, together with other members of the Cuban diplomatic mission.
