The leadership of the Cyprus-Cuba Friendship Association holds a fraternal and supportive meeting with the Cuban ambassador in Nicosia.

Nicosia, Cyprus. January 21, 2026. A delegation of the leadership of the Cyprus-Cuba Friendship Association recently held a fraternal and reflective meeting in this capital with the Cuban Ambassador to Cyprus, Rubén Pino Martínez, during which they reaffirmed their solidarity and support for Cuba and its Revolution.

In these days of pain and shock on the island due to the fall in combat of the 32 sons of the homeland of José Martí during the Yankee invasion of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the president of the AAChC, Andreas Chrysanthou, shared the feelings of his fellow members of the Association and reiterated his ongoing support for the largest of the Antilles, a commitment they will explicitly and personally reaffirm in the coming days during a visit to the Cuban diplomatic mission in Nicosia. According to members of the board, this will be their clear and unmistakable way of reiterating their condemnation of the Yankee aggression against Venezuela and the vile and criminal kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife by U.S. elite forces.

During the exchange, there was no shortage of time to recount their solidarity with Cuba, a fact they reaffirmed during their most recent trip to the island in November 2025, where the heart and supportive hand of the Cypriot friends left their mark and legacy in each and every meeting held with ICAP, the Fidel Castro Center, Cuban hospital institutions, and other places visited.

Their immediate commitment, they specified, will be the organization of the tribute for the 173rd anniversary of the birth of our national hero, José Martí, together with trade union, student organizations, and political forces friendly to Cuba, in coordination with the Cuban diplomatic mission in Cyprus, and also as part of the activities that will take place this year marking the centenary of the Commander-in-Chief of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.
