Galway, Ireland, May 2, 2024. This afternoon, the mayor of the western city of Galway, Ireland, received the Cuban ambassador in this country, Bernardo Guanche Hernández, on a courtesy visit.
During the meeting, both parties highlighted the historical and current ties that unite both countries and peoples, as well as the potential for exchanges in different fields between Cuba and Galway.
The Cuban diplomat thanked Ireland for its support in its tireless battle against the economic, commercial and financial blockade, as well as for excluding Cuba from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism of the US State Department.
He also express to the Mayor his wishes for success in his important responsibilities and for much prosperity for the people of this city that treasures so much history, economic and cultural activity.
The meeting took place in a cordial and friendly atmosphere as corresponds to the relations between Cuba and Ireland.
