Meeting with cubans residents in Iran

Tehran, September 27, 2025. A meeting with cubans residents in Iran was held on Thursday, September 25, at the Cuban Embassy. During the meeting, various topics of consular interest were discussed, and Counselor Alejandro R. Fuentes Febles, in charge of consular affairs, gave a presentation on the facilities provided by the Cuban Ministry of Justice's new digital platform for requesting and issuing registration documents online.

As part of the meeting, the importance of keeping passports up-to-date was also discussed to avoid problems with the movement and/or evacuation of our nationals in the event of a recurrence of exceptional situations like the one that occurred last June. In this regard, the Cubans present reiterated their gratitude to the Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the ongoing attention and concern received during the recent war between Iran and Israel.

The Cuban ambassador to Iran, Jorge F. Lefebre Nicolás, provided an update on the economic, political, and social situation in Cuba, facilitating an exchange of views on the efforts being made by the Cuban government to address the negative effects of the tightening of the United States blockade against our country. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining regular communication with the diplomatic mission, given the tense regional situation and the threats of conflict with Iran.
