Meeting with Karol Świerkot, creator of the blog “Color Cubano”

Ambassador Ibete Fernández Hernández held a meeting with the creator of the blog “Color Cubano,” Karol Świerkot, at the Cuban Embassy in Poland. This dialogue highlighted the growing importance of new digital media as essential platforms for disseminating an authentic narrative about the reality in Cuba, beyond the conventional perspectives offered by international news agencies such as Reuters and the Associated Press.

Świerkot highlighted the role of communicators—and especially that of his blog—in truthfully reporting on current events in a context where information circulates at breakneck speed but lacks objectivity. She explained that the blog “Color Cubano” has emerged as an alternative space that challenges hegemonic narratives and offers detailed analysis of the major events shaping Cuba’s social, economic, and political landscape.

For her part, Ambassador Fernández Hernández highlighted this commitment to truth and depth, elements that make this digital platform a guide for those seeking to understand the complexity of the Caribbean nation without filters or distortions.

During the meeting, the Cuban ambassador particularly praised the regularity and quality of the blog’s posts. In a media landscape often dominated by oversimplifications and biased perspectives, she thanked Mr. Swierkot for his valuable contribution to conveying the reality of Cuba.
