During a recent working visit to Los Angeles, representatives of the Embassy of Cuba in Washington, D.C., met with solidarity organizations in the city and conveyed, on behalf of the Cuban people, their profound gratitude for their steadfast support and commitment to defending Cuba's sovereignty.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to share experiences related to the drafting and adoption of Cuba's Family Code, highlighting the broad public consultation process that preceded its approval through a national referendum. Participants exchanged views on Cuba's current economic and social situation, as well as the continued impact of the U.S. economic, commercial, and financial blockade, which remains the principal obstacle to the country's development and the well-being of its people.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment to promoting dialogue, respect for international law, and solidarity among peoples.
